The R300 nature reserve permit, explained
The Atlantis Dunes are a protected area, so every rider needs an entry permit for the Witzands Aquifer Nature Reserve. The permit is R300 per person for quad biking and is paid at the reserve’s permit office when you arrive, not when you book.
Two things to remember: the permit office closes daily at 15:30, and the reserve is closed on Wednesdays (except public holidays). Arrive 30 minutes before your tour so there’s time to buy your permit and check in.
